Mid Summer's Fire
Opdateret: 3. jul.
They still burn Witches
As a reminder, they say
To keep evil away
Which Fires are you keeping burning?
The one in your heart
Or the one tonight?
What Witches ever deserved a fate that evil?
Why are you maintaining this horrible event?
Erasing their songs of old, the language, the narrative, the art
Are they erasing only their shame or are they making amends?
They still burn Witches
Because they forget
Traditions
Are originally made from celebration
From pagan ceremonies and rituals
To merge the old into the new
They burned us in his Name, but they misused and misunderstood his Fire
They say it is to keep evil away
What evil were ever found in the Women with powers?
They still burn Witches
For being wise, powerful, knowing, seeing, hearing, feeling
And thus being a threat to the Lies we are fed
So when you join the Midsummer Fire tonight
Are you, too, still burning Witches
Or are you one of those
Who never left the Fire?
Still embodying the flames, the purification, knowing
What is to give Light
Must endure Burning
They still burn Witches
So..
‘In this Fire:
may shadows be embraced by Light
may consciousness be purified
may the bound be free
may fear be met and understood
In this Fire may Truth be reborn..’
